1. Primary Objective- The entire meaning behind your role, and how to properly execute it.
Always know what your next move is. It’s a game of chess going in and out, and you do not get to reap your rewards until you get the enemies king. As an ADC your primary goal is to stay on task, you can take this with a grain of salt or you can understand the severity of it. A rule of thumb to live by as an ADC is as follows: Creeps>Kills, Objectives>Kills, Objectives=Victory. This means that you should always aim for getting that one creep and that one objective. What it does not mean is you should totally ignore kills and focus on one thing at one time, multi-tasking and being able to get that one creep score as well as balance harassing your opponent in lane is something that comes with experience.
2. Early Game- Keeping goals, tasks, and always knowing what you’re going to do next.
The standard average game in diamond the ADC usually has around 150-200 CS at the 20 minute mark. The more you get of course is better, but you don’t want to shoot for goals that are not close to your current skill level. If your average game in lets say Silver league is around 75 CS at 20 minutes, rack up and aim for 100 the next game. Early game is made up of a few things: map awareness (where is the enemy jungler?!), CSing as explained before, when to take the tower, freeze the lane, or letting them push, and lastly harassment/engaging in trades of damage with your counterparts in lane.
Early game is by far one of the most crucial parts of the entire game. If you’re not able to grab it by the balls before it’s too late you’ll likely lose. Take charge and set goals for yourself. For example a goal to set would be 125CS at 20:00 minutes, and every time the enemies DoubleLift goes to attack a creep, attack them, while of course managing your own creeps. The logic behind this is while the animation is going to the creep, they cannot simultaneously attack the creep and harass you at the same time (Unless they can tumble as vayne or use any other animation break). As a consequence of this basic mechanic it is the most optimal time to get free harass in. “Balance in all things.” -Irelia. Balancing a good lane plan that consists of CSing, harassing, and getting a tower early or not is all something you need to have an idea of while going into the game. Executing this plan you have made properly will ensure a smooth transition to mid-game, and thus resulting in you having a higher chance of winning.
