Improve your laning phase.

Once again, we’re going to do our best to help steer you all in the correct path to become successful in all of your games. Today we’re going to focus on the laning phase, because what better way to improve yourself than to make sure you come out of your lane with an advantage over your opponent. A few things we’re really going to work on will be farming, harassing, and trading.
Lets start with the most basic skill in the game, farming. Farming is the most efficient way to generate gold in the game, and for that reason I believe everyone should understand how important it is not to miss a creep kill. In the laning phase, if you are playing the role of AP carry, Marksman, or Top Lane your key is to last hit as many minions as possible. A lot of people have difficulty being able to last hit properly, and the easiest tip to give these people is to always have your focus on the weakest minion. Make sure their health bar is showing at the top left corner of your screen and when their hp gets to the point where your attack damage is at that is when you want to auto attack it. Something very important while farming a lot of people never understand is whether they should be last hitting and freezing the wave, or if they should be pushing the wave. There are a lot of factors to consider to really know which to decide upon, if the minions are closer towards the enemy turret and your opponent is managing to freeze the wave that is when you want to push the wave to the enemy turret so that the lane resets. Times you want to freeze the lane and just last hit, can be when you have a small lead on your enemy and the minion wave is close to your turret; this is when you just hold the wave right before your turret so that your enemy has to be over extended and fear the gank of your jungler just while he attempts to last hit. With the understanding of how to farm efficiently and get ahead of your opponent, you’re already one step ahead on winning your lane.
Although labeled as two separate points, harassing and trading fall under the same category when it comes to knowledge on the two. To harass your opponent is to apply pressure and make sure to intimidate your opponent so that you scare him away from farming or attempting to trade with you. A good way to harass your opponent is to trade with them. Trading with your opponent, like many other decisions have to be played out at the correct time. Factors that you should consider when going in to trade; ‘the opponent’s mana vs your mana’, ‘your health vs your opponent's health’, ‘if any abilities are on cooldown’, ‘item advantage’, ‘damage comparison’, and last and most importantly ‘the location of the junglers’. One of my favorite times of going in to trade with an opponent is when they’re low on mana or right when they use their auto attack to hit a minion, because when you go in they already lose 1 second on their auto attack because they have just used it; and if they were low on mana, chances are they won’t have enough to use their full combo on you. So remember, when trading with your opponent, having knowledge really is key in winning trades.
Hopefully with this miniature tutorial your laning phase will improve and you will be able to win your lane a lot more than you already are. Good luck on the fields of justice!
